How is the ACVR web site organized?
The menubar at the top of the page allows you to navigate to major sections of the web site. The sidebar menus are used to navigate within sections and subsections. The 'Site Map' will help you find the right section or subsection.
How do I find documents that I need to download?
Many documents are located in either the public Downloads Section or the private Members Only Downloads Section (Password Required). If not, you will see a link to their location. The Proceedings, Film Reading Sessions and Pictures from previous meetings are located on the Previous Meetings page, reachable from the Meetings page in the Activities section. Lecture presentations from previous meetings are located in the Members Only Resident Section (Password Required).
How do I retrieve a forgotten password?
Search for your record in the Public Directory. Choose 'Send My Password' at the top of your record. Your password for online Journal access, Private Directory access, Members Only and Society sections access will be sent to your official ACVR email address. To get a password reminder for an ACVR Mailing List (Note: Mailing List passwords are not the same as your official ACVR ID and Password), use this link to the web-based administrative console; a link is also provided at the bottom of every ACVR mailing. At the administrative console, click on the mailing list for which you want a password reminder. You will see instructions for having your mailing list password sent to you at the bottom of the page.
How do I change my password?
Use the Contact Us email form to notify us that you'd like to change your password and let us know the new password that you have chosen. We will make the changes necessary so that you will have access to the private sections of the web site using your new password.
How do I avoid entering my password multiple times?
You only need to enter your password once as you enter the Members Only section. If authorized, you will have access to the Resident, Diplomate, Council, and Exam Committee sections. Use the 'Remember Password' feature of your browser to facilitate entry on your next visit. Access to a Society section requires that you re-enter your password, but using the 'Remember Password' feature will speed entry the next time you visit. You may need to enter your password each time you visit the Private Directory. However, many browsers will fill-in the ID/Password fields if you've previously used the 'Remember Password' feature when entering the Private Directory.
My password is correct. Why am I repeatedly refused?
Sometimes during access to the private sections of the web site, you will be refused entry repeatedly even though your password is correct. You may have initially entered a typo for your ACVR ID and Password. Subsequent tries still do not allow entry. The solution is to quit and restart your browser and carefully re-enter your ID and Password. If you use the 'Remember Password' feature of your browser during entry, you can keep these typos to a minimum.
How do I update my ACVR Directory contact information?
It is important to keep your Directory contact information updated since your address is used for Journal mailings and your email address is used for ACVR Mailing List messages. The ACVR requires that you choose a single address and a single email address for all ACVR correspondence, your Journal subscription, and the ACVR Directory. Just send us your new contact information (address, phone number, and/or email address) using the Contact Us email form and we will do the rest, including updating your 123Signup information where you pay dues and register for meetings.
